WHY

with 2 comments

DO YOU ASSUME THAT EVERYTHING IS FINE WITH ME? WHY DO YOU THINK THAT I SHOULD DO EXACTLY AS YOU SAY? NEVER ASKING FOR MY OPINION, NEVER REALLY BOTHERING ABOUT WHAT I WANT, NEVER REALLY CARING THAT I MIGHT LIKE TO HAVE A SAY IN A FEW THINGS, ESPECIALLY BLOODY IMPORTANT THINGS LIKE _____. YOU ALWAYS DECIDE. ALWAYS YOU DECIDING. I’M HEADSTRONG? NO, I ONLY WANT YOU TO ASK ME WHAT I THINK. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK? SEEMS LIKE IT IS, RIGHT? I NEVER GET TO SAY ANYTHING AND NEITHER DOES ANYONE ELSE. DON’T YOU NOTICE? PERHAPS YOU DON’T. YEAH, PERHAPS.

ONE DAY, YOU KNOW, I’M GOING TO EXPLODE.

Got to Say

with 5 comments

I’ve been thinking again.

I don’t want the O Levels to come.
I want the O Levels to be over.
I don’t want the O Levels to be over.

Yeah, you read that right.
I did type that.

See, once it’s all over, we’ll have a hell of a time for some time after that.
Then,
it’s time to go.
Time to leave St Nicks.
I don’t wanna
Time to go some place else

A whole new place

(emailing someone is making me getting used to type like this 🙂 )

Be glad for this opportunity to go “some place else”
I’m trying to.

But what makes me more scared about going than going itself,
is that I’m being way too horrible a person this year
All those terrible monsters inside all suddenly unleashed
I’m a bad person.
I’m no longer that patient/understanding/sensitive to others.
I’m bad-tempered, getting increasingly vulgar, cynical, unfeeling.
O Levels is no excuse to behave this way.

I don’t want to leave knowing I didn’t patch up
Even if I can’t stand those people I can’t stand
I want to apologise because I know I’m wrong
Even if technically, I didn’t commit any crime.

This has been bugging me quite frequently now.
More recently.
I’ve got my conscience.
What am I going to do about things?

Hold fast

with 5 comments

I need to brainwash myself to embrace the new, upcoming 2008.

No need to get all sentimental and weepy about 2007 that’s about to leave in 2 days.
Thinking of all the times that 2007 has given me, I realise that everything worth remembering will still be around in 2008.

I’ll just be one year older and have new things to learn, that’s all.

It’s not as if with the leaving of 2007, everything that’s made it wonderful (or not) will go, too.

I’ll still be in the same class (only now it’s Sec 4 Wisdom and not 3. Gotta get used to writing that.) I’ll still be in the same lovely school with the same lovely people- classmates, Bandits, seniors and all. I’ll still go to the gym for a run, eat lunch at 4:30pm sometimes, get picked on my the conductor, go for piano lessons, have Morning Jog, go for Math and Chem tuition and be a living zombie.

Things’ll be alright.

Pictures

Here are some pictures of the trip to Australia. Enjoy 😀

Here we are at the Dandenong Ranges.

My brother and I. We weren’t allowed to feed them. However due to the ignorance of many others, I managed to ‘trick’ a few rosellas onto my arm with empty sunflower seeds. At first, they took the bait but the trick soon became stale.

The Crimson Rosella

We fed some wild birds- ducks, swans. It got a little scary at times because they waddled too close. There was a family of Dusky Moorhens- two parents and a few chicks. They had a nest in the bushes. One of the parents ran out to get the bread we threw, passed it to the other parent taking care of the chicks and that parent would feed the chicks. Oh yeah saw a duckling too.

*

At one of the many beaches we went to.

*

Pretty wild flowers

*

At the historic garden in Sorrento. Lovely flowers 😀

*

The MacRitchie falls. Lovely waterfall but utterly horrendous walk back up. I almost died can you imagine my parents?

Went to Reids Lookout after MacRitchie falls. The sun is setting.

Pretty sunset.

On the way back to the carpark.

*

On the way to Birchip to visit parents’ friends. The clouds are wispy and fluffy. And the sky’s a brilliant shade of blue.

It was a nice drive to Birchip. All straight, peaceful country roads. Sheep and cattle at all sides. And only an occasional glimpse of a car or a truck.

Uncle Keith and Auntie Helen (parents’ friends) own a huge farm. (we had to drive 6km to get to the wheat fields) We got to see sheep shearing. One sheep weighs approximately 120 kilograms, 5kg of which is the heavy wool coat.

Went to a neighbouring duck farm.

20 000 two-day-old ducklings in this barn. It was this sea of yellow fur and the constant cheepcheepcheep of the ducklings. I picked a few up and so did my brother. Only  I know how to carry them and he doesn’t.

*

My sister is holding the egg tray with the cicada and my brother is holding the leaf with the cicada on it. Here we are standing in front of our cottage in Halls Gap. The cicadas are deafening. On our second night, there was a thunderstorm at night, causing 12 fires all over Australia. As we drove off to our next destination the next day, we saw many dead cicadas.

*

More pictures of beautiful sunsets. We couldn’t get enough of them.

*

Us on the ferry to Kangaroo Island

*

Giant King Crab that weighs 6.45kg! We are at Kingscote here, one of the small towns on Kangaroo Island. We bought seafood yummy 😀

Pelican feeding. Scary pelicans have big throats.

Us feeding seagulls after the pelican feeding. Greedy lil’ things.

*

We went back to Penneshaw (another small town), where we were staying. Here we are at the beach in front of our cottage. We had a beachfront cottage. How cool is that! Every morning (and I stayed there for 5 days) I woke up to see the sparkling, serene turqoise-blue-green sea. It was beautiful.

And as it happens, we’re all suckers for pretty seashells. Everytime we went to a beach, we were bound to bring back shells/pebbles. We could spend hours looking and not get tired.

*

Took this candid shot of my mother making sandwiches while we played billiards.

*

Flowers at one of the lighthouses we wanted to visit. Unfortunately, due to the fires (there were 5 fires on Kangaroo Island itself) all National Parks were closed. So we just enjoyed the sea view when we got to the lighthouse location.

*

This was at a historic monument! Saw a stingray in the water- water was shallow and thus we could see the two flaps above the water surface. And my mum still said I was ‘seeing things’! We are sitting…in a field of pretty wild flowers.

The same pretty wildflowers, this time at Prospect Hill, which we went to after visiting the historic monument.

Us on the stairs at Prospect Hill! We had a marvelous view. A car was no more than the size of my fingernail and the road no thicker than half of my finger from up there. 😀

*

This is Red Banks. It’s a nice beach. Found plenty of pretty shells.

See why the beach is named Red Banks?

And here, it was only us and nobody else 🙂

*

STOKES BAY! By far the most beautiful beach we went to. And the weather was lovely, too.

Oh man, this looks like heaven, doesn’t it 😀

The tide was high. We went exploring for fish and shrimp and shellfish in the shallow pools. It was really fun! I FOUND A STARFISH 😀

My brother, sister and I doing a star shot 😀

One last shot before going back to the car.

*

Our small habitat. We actually had 4 crabs from the previous visit to the beach in front of our cottage. The largest one escaped so we were left with 3. And we got 3 fish, 1 crab, 1 shellfish and 1 starfish from Stokes Bay and put them into this container. We intended to keep them until the last day and release them into the sea again.

The three fish died during the night though. So did the shellfish and the small crab and the starfish. Basically everything we got from Stokes Bay. The 3 crabs from our beach escaped and we managed to find 2 again. Wonder what happened to the last one.

*

Went to Little Sahara. It’s this place with sand dunes, lovely sand dunes.

This is us on the very top of the largest sand dune!

Cool eh 😀

My dad took these pictures. Trying to get the perfect shot, he looked like he was doing taiji. Trying to video him doing taiji using the videocam. Sadly, the memory was full.

Another jumping shot

*

Areas of burnt forest from said fires.

*

A pretty shot at one of the shopping malls in Adelaide.

It’s occurred to me that the pictures can’t be zoomed in. Ask me for the link to the photo album if you want!

HELLO CHUA LOVE!

I HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT TIME IN JAPAN! I’M SO GLAD YOU’RE BACK HOME NOW 😀 MISSED YOUR COLOURFUL AND HILARIOUS POSTS AND YOU, OF COURSE! (and your fanatical laughter)

I could help you with MSND later! And I can smell my udon and miso soup, yummy 😀 Strangeling, aren’t you sick of eating Japanese food after being there for ___ days/weeks already? I guess not 😀

Don’t worry, we can go to the gym together once school starts. ): I need to exercise, don’t care who says I have gained weight/have lost weight/look the same 😀 My mum threw my weighing scale away boohoo, so I rely on people’s observations. Oh whatever. Shall become GYM RATS 😀

Once again WELCOME HOME, CHUA LOVE! YAY 😀
